Welcome to Milly Eats! My name is Amelia and I am a registered dietitian and health coach living in Chicago. I run my own private health coaching practice and also work for a really awesome nutrition mobile app called Rise. I live in the Noble Square neighborhood with my husband, Jeremy (who is very tall and good at taking selfies- see below) and our cat, Dexter.  I love tacos, sushi, and am an amateur DIYer.  My friends call me Milly.

Nutrition and Coaching Philosophy                                                                                                            I strive to eat whole foods, limit sugar, consume lean proteins, and include a wide variety of fruit and vegetables. To me, food should not be considered inherently good or bad. I don’t think one should have to sacrifice all of their favorite foods to be healthy or lose weight. I believe that if you can learn how to indulge in moderation and stay active you will be able to enjoy food and maintain a healthy weight at the same time.

I encourage my clients to achieve this level of balance by rejecting quick fixes and fad diets and instead focus on making small sustainable changes that will last a lifetime. I help my clients identify their strengths, challenges, and figure out what will work best for them and their lifestyle by providing personalized feedback and suggestions.

Background and Experience                                                                                                                           I have a Bachelor’s degree from Bradley University and a Master’s degree from Northern Illinois University, both in nutrition and dietetics. I am a Registered Dietitian and  a Wellcoaches ® certified health coach with over five years of coaching and counseling experience with a focus on weight loss, diabetes management, overall healthy eating, exercise, tobacco cessation, and stress management. I have worked with people of all ages and from all walks of life.
